Police in Murfreesboro have located the vehicle wanted in connection with a serious hit-and-run incident Saturday morning.

Murfreesboro Police Department released the video of the hit-and-run to the public Monday in hopes that someone would be able to identify the vehicle and its driver. Video was obtained by investigators via an America Traffic Solutions red-light camera.

Efforts to put cameras on poles near traffic lights at busy Pittsburgh intersections have been stuck in a legislative traffic jam for several years. But now a push is revving up for such cameras, which snap a photo of the license plate of a car as it speeds through a red light. Legislators could vote before they adjourn July 1 for summer recess.

State Police are reminding pedestrians when they walk on the roadways at night that they need to be extra cautious and obey the rules. State Police say more than 70 percent of pedestrian fatalities happen at night, which was the case in all of the five recent fatalities.

Florida
